Grade Level: Freshman/Sophomore/Junior/Senior
This beginning high school course introduces a variety of skills through various media with emphasis on basic drawing and understanding the roll of the elements and principals of design. Major two dimensional projects throughout the year would include drawing (pencil, pen and ink) introductory perspective, and painting; also a start of awareness concerning artists- past and present, styles of art and art history. A mandatory supply kit to be purchased by student is required for this course (cost approx. $20.00)

Prerequisite: A "C" or above in Art I
Grade Level: Sophomore/Junior/Senior
Art II is a continuation of Art I with emphasis on creative problem solving through advanced projects both in 2 and 3 dimensional field of art. Acrylic painting and color theory are also emphasized at this level. Workshops and fieldtrips are provided when available as well as opportunity for art competitions. Participation in an end of the year art show is a requirement

Grade Level: Junior/Senior '
Art III encourages students to find their creative voice in a range of disciplines and media in both the 2 and 3 dimensional fields of art. Emphasis is placed on fine tuning of existing skills while also developing new techniques. Students will be given the opportunity to participate in the area high school competitions. Workshops and fieldtrips are provided. Students not only will participate in the final art show but will lead in the setting up of a professional Art Show. Students will be building portfolios, some of which will be used for obtaining art scholarships.

Grade Level: Senior
Advanced art emphasizes creative problem solving and self-expressions. Emphasis is on fine tuning of existing skills while developing new techniques. Emphasis is placed on being an independent critical thinker and finding your "artistic" voice in society. Advanced students will be encouraged to participate in art competitions. Art IV will be expected to lead in the setup and advertising of the annual school art show. Students will be preparing their portfolios, some of which will be used for pursing college scholarships.
